Memories at Grandma & Grandpa's

Thanks to the memories I read on my friend Diane's blog, I started remembering all my favorite childhood memories with Mom, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa. Never a dull momment at Grandma & Grandpa Little Farm. Nothing was store bought for us kids to play with. Every Saturday we would go to visit Grandma & Grandpa.  Dad would help Grandpa around the farm. Mom would help & visit with Grandma. Sometimes our cousins will be there too.

Rare picture of all five us kids together at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

It was more fun when our cousins where there playing games.

When we were little we were not allowed to leave the front yard, they lived on a main road & feed trucks ran by all day, we could go out back with an adult. Mom & Grandma would sit at the kitchen table, which was in front of the big window watching us kids in the front yard. It was always fun being at Grandma house. Sometimes we would get to stay all day & have dinner. All us kids would go play games in the front yard. We would play Mother may I, Red Rover, Ring around the rosey & Red light green light. After dark we would play hide & go seek. Once in awhile one of the adults would sneak out and surprise us. We would all run screaming for the house.  When we got to be about 6, we had new rules out side fenced front yard.
  1. Stay away from the road
  2. if you go out back make sure you close the gates
  3. watch out for the geese
  4. dont touch the electic fence
  5. stay away from the momma pig & her piglets.
  6. If you take your little brother's keep an eye on them.
I always liked going out back with Grandpa, he treated me like a bigger kid & taught me the rules & showed me things. Answered all my silly questions too.

The hardest thing about getting older is admitting these memories are from 50 years ago...LOL

"Just off the Farm"

I have been kicking this idea around for a while, have had a couple custom orders.

Making a few of my traditional apron out of unbleached muslin with or without embroidered front picture on it, like my granddaughter Abbies apron. Or just you name on it or nothing where you can personlize it yourself.   Whats you thought?

Hugs, Grace

Custom Apron for Abbie

We made a special Apron for Abigail for Christmas. I embroidered an Irish Setter & her name in Redwork. It turned out really nice. I think she liked it. I know my son Terry did. We made a matching apron for her Aunt Jennifers too. We wanted to thank her for helping Terry take care of Abbie all year.

Passing of a wonderful Lady

Betty Margret McFee Rozsonits

Oct. 14, 1929 - May 28, 2010

To most of her friends she was Betty Rozsonits, to her 3 step sons she was Rustie.
32 years ago I married her only child Dale Zima. she was "Mom" to me. I was her daughter. I gave her 3 grand sons. Mom always said in this family there is no such words as step or in laws. Nothing changed between us after 1998 when Dale died.
She never prejudged me, always treated me with love & respect.
When I remarried she adopted David too.
She was a wonderful mom & friend.
